Volunteer Application

Would you like to be part of our volunteer team? Apply below!

Please read “Team Duties” and application instructions carefully!

Team Duties:

Minions:

This team got its name from the yellow bandanas that they are required to wear to make them identifiable at the event. The name is a reference to the animated movie of the same name.

Volunteers on the Minion team are essentially just helpers who do whatever is needed on the day of the event. They are crucial to helping our event run smoothly and efficiently.

Early Shift duties will include, but may not be limited to event setup (putting up signs and banners, moving tables, setting up tents where needed, etc), helping vendors move their booth items from the parking lot to their assigned vendor area before the event starts, as well as event site ‘maintenance’ (picking up any trash you see, cleaning up any food or drinks that get spilled, etc) while the event is happening.

Late Shift duties will include, but may not be limited to event teardown and cleanup (collecting signs and banners, moving tables, cleaning the pavilion, taking trash to the dumpster, etc), helping vendors move their booth items from the vending area to the parking lot after the event is over, as well as event site ‘maintenance’ (picking up any trash you see, cleaning up any food or drinks that get spilled, etc) after the event has concluded.

Note: Minions are not expected nor required to help vendors set up or take down their booth spaces, but only to move vendor items between the parking lot and the vending area. Vendors are asked to make sure that they can set up their own booths.

Minions will be directed by the Head Minion and MUST BE ABLE TO LIFT HEAVY ITEMS AND WALK RELATIVELY LONG DISTANCES

Security:

Walking the event, enforcing FWPPD and Shoaff Park rules (rules will be provided before the event), Keeping the peace and potentially settling disputes.

Security may be directed by a Head of Security if one is appointed and/or the FWPPD Coordinators.

Members of the Security team MUST BE ABLE TO STAND/WALK FOR LONG PERIODS OF TIME

NOTE: All teams may also be directed by any of the Fort Wayne PPD Event Coordinators

If you would like to volunteer for our event, but have concerns about physical limitations, please apply as an individual for one or both of the Minion teams and we can discuss accommodations for you after we process your application.
